Inadequate healthcare in the remote villages of Mustang is a major problem, with patients dying of simple curable diseases. Particularly in the winters, the government health workers travel back to their southern hometowns due to the harshly cold climate in Mustang, leaving no basic healthcare for the local residents. LGJF health workers (mostly local health care professionals) stay in the villages even during the winter months. This has been very useful, particularly for older people who get sick more often in the winter. We support seven health centers in Ghiling, Ghemi, Tsarang, Chhoser, Thinkar, Tangye, and Surkhang with our appointed health care workers and quality medicines.
